Roller Blinds

My vertical blinds stopped moving all of a sudden. We just moved here and the blinds worked perfectly. Now when I turn the stick it does nothing. I am unable to slide the stick across to open them either. The stick won’t budge. Any idea what happened? or what I can do?

I have always bought vinyl blinds for our windows, but my children break them constantly. I want to replace them with blinds that will last longer and are more durable. Should I get wooden ones or aluminum?

My fiance bought some venetian blinds from IKEA and they don’t come with any brackets for fitting them. I have tried homebase, focus and b&q and have had no luck. Where in the UK can I get the necessary brackets without having to buy a new blind?

I have white(fabric covered) vertical blinds. They are in desperate need of cleaning. A vacum attachment doesn’t do the job. How can I can i effectivly and easily clean them? Can they be washed in the washer? Can I wash them in the dish washer? Any help with this would be wonderful!!!
I have no clue where instructions would be on how to do this. Also the cloth does not slide out that is simply all that is there.

What does it reveal about me if I like blinds (black ones) and stairs (specifically the black fire escape stairs at the end side of buildings) and lockers (the ones in apartment building for the tenants to use)

I am currently building a house and love the look of window casings, but I don’t want white blinds. The casings will be painted white. I want 3 inch brown wood blinds, but not if it looks funny. The house we are building is based on the arts and crafts style of architecture and has wood exposed beams in the kitchen. Any homedecorator ideas would be great!

should i go for a plain vinyl or the ones with prints on them?horizontal or vertical blinds?what color of blinds would be nice for a room of newly-married couple? (we painted our room light yellow). our baby girl (due october!) will share the same room with us.
what else can i hang on the wall to make the room look nice for us and for the baby?

I have an exterior (front) door with some glazing/a window in it, approx 24" x 36" in size. For privacy/security reasons I need to cover over this window at night. I haven’t yet been able to find anything suitable – light enough, easy enough to open, easy to install on the door. Does anyone make blinds or covers specifically for this purpose? Or has anyone come up with a DIY solution?

There is a slidey tab in the back (on the side of the window) that is flush with the top of the window sill that slides back in forth, but that’s all I can get it to do. Please can you tell me in DETAIL how to take it off so I can put up mini blinds? I WILL PICK A BEST ANSWER!
I just don’t want to accidentally rip any screws out and damage the wood on my window. I want to do it the right way.

I know I should just get rid of them, they are out of style, but I have so many windows and have only been here for a year, I am taking my time with decorating and window treatments. So does anyone have any tricks for cleaning these things? They are so old they are metal mini blinds.

The cord (to pull the blinds up & down) snapped on my blinds. The cord was comprised of 2 strings with a small plastic piece at the end. While I was letting my blinds down the cord snapped & 1 of the strings went up into the top part of the blinds (which is covered by plastic). Is there anyway to fix this? Currently my blind is in the down position but I am unable to pull the blind up. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have two small sidelight windows that I would like to put Faux wood blinds on. But they are very narrow. How narrow can they cut blinds somewhere like Lowe’s or Home Depot?

There’s already mounting installed. Do I need to buy a tension rod or just the blinds? How do I install it? What else do I need? This is my first apartment–I don’t know anything. Thanks for your help!

i have pull cord blinds with the pole at the bottom up at my kitchen windows, will it damage them if i wash them with some washing detergent, i would need to put them in the bath if i do it as they are 4ft long, any ideas.
sorry i should have explained better , they are not the slats blinds or venetian blinds they are the cafe blinds , they are like a cotton material , i think they are called roller blinds.

I have a luxury condo that i’m now renting out. I was wondering what the premium would be charged for blinds to be installed? It doens’t appear to difficult. I’m thinking I buy higher quality white wooden blinds and install myself. I’m unsure what thinkness to get and what amount is sufficent per window. I don’t want to get up sold however want to spend enough to get a good quality product.

These blinds are vertical and have the bar that you twist which causes them to go up or down.

We would be looking at wooden venecian blinds and having an installer fit them.

OK, I have wood blinds, and they get so dusty! I fail to dust them but maybe every 6-months and when I finally do it takes me for ever, I use an old sock and furniture polish. Is there an easier way to keep them clean, how often should I dust them?

i would like to leave the blinds on the window.

I’m installing exterior patio blinds on an apartment balcony to help keep the heat at bay (in Phoenix). The building surface that I’m trying to hang the blinds on is stucco with what seems like concrete underneath it. Drilling a hole and trying to screw in hooks is not working. What kind of screws should I use for installation? Will self-tapping masonry screws work on this surface?

I rent and we are not allowed to remove the blinds that are installed as the window treatments. They are just the crappy normal apartment blinds and I’d really like to add some color to the room by putting up a Valance or something, would that look bad? What other options do I have?

It hot and I don’t have ac, so I have fans running all the time. Problem is, it makes my vertical blinds slap together and make noise. I really hate that noise, especially when I am trying to take a nap. Is there anything I can do or buy to make them stop slapping together?

The string snapped and was pulled through. I now do not know how to restring the cord through the track. The blinds open in the centre.

The blinds all come in 78" in size. Our door is not that big. It’s a standard door, but the blinds look to be six inches or more too big on each size. Any tips on how to make this easy to hang? Or other options I should be looking in to instead?
